American wisteria - (Wisteria frutescens)

A genus of very attractive climbing plants as we see from this example, with many spears of purple, lavender and white flowers. They are easy to cultivate and are hardy in most parts of the country. Rich loam soil is best, but ordinary soil is well tolerated. A sunny position is necessary. Growth Habit: Vine, Duration: Perennial, U.S. Nativity: Native.
